It has been reported that there are potential strikes happening in the run up to the Christmas season in the UK. There is a vote on the industrial action taking place on 24/09 with the results due on 08/10. No further information yet on when the strikes will commence.
Car-free day is an event proposed by the Mayor of London and is taking place on Sunday 22nd September.
This means that there will be extensive road closures and restrictions in and around Tower Bridge, London Bridge and the City of London between 07:00 to 19:00 and beyond as heavy congestion begins to clear.
This is likely to affect our next day evening delivery service in the following ways:
- Roads in the surrounding areas will be extremely busy
- London Bridge, Tower Bridge and Westminster Bridge will be closed to traffic, making travel between North and South Thames a challenge
- A number of residential roads in 23 boroughs will also be closed across Greater London
More information about road closures can be found on the Transport for London website here.
